about

I don't know many constellations but my favourite is The Plough - I always look for it on clear nights as it's so easy to find. On a trip to Australia I couldn't find it no matter how hard I searched, until after several weeks of staring at stars and feeling like I was going slightly mad, someone took pity on me, got out a children's dictionary and showed me the difference between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

lyrics

You’ve always been there
Through the darkest night
With just one glance I could always find you
In a web of diamonds
You held my eye
Only the dawn could chase this constellation from my sky

Familiar and strange
Night after night you would light up the stage
But I only knew I missed you
When you went away

On a distant shore
I searched for you
In the shimmering crowds, but you were nowhere to be found
Like a dog with a bone
I couldn’t leave it alone
Spin on my heel but the heavens wouldn’t yield you

Familiar and strange
Night after night you would light up the stage
But I only knew I missed you
When you went away

I needed someone to sit me down and explain
That I was the one who’d moved
- you could not follow but you would wait
Picture books of stars and planetary shapes
Drop my eyes from the friendless skies
It was you who was left behind
